Something about roller printing
The process of printing on the fabric with a copper roller engraved with a concave pattern, also known as copper roller printing. The engraved drum is referred to as the flowerpot. When printing, first stain the surface of the flower tube with color paste, and then use a sharp and flat scraper to scrape off the surface color paste of the unengraved part of the flower tube, so that the color paste remains in the concave pattern. When the fountain is imprinted on the fabric, the color paste is transferred to the fabric to print the pattern. Each flower tube is printed with a color paste. If multiple flower tubes are installed on the printing equipment at the same time, color patterns can be printed continuously.
The main component of the printing equipment is a large-diameter cast iron hollow bearing drum, the surface of which is covered with more than 10 layers of hemp, warp, and weft plush fabric or a layer of rubber, which is the backing that enhances elasticity when the fabric is embedded. The backing jacket is protected by a layer of annular seamless rubber lining, and a printed lining made of cotton or synthetic fibers outside the rubber lining to prevent the printing color paste from contaminating the rubber lining. When printing, the fabric and the printing interlining are stacked, and the patterns are printed and dried through the nip between each flower cylinder and the pressure roller. Then fix or develop the color according to the nature of the dye in the colorant. Finally, the fabric is washed and dried to complete the printing process.
The printing speed of the roller printing machine can reach more than 120 meters per minute, generally 70 to 100 meters per minute. Commonly used roller printing machines can only print one side. If the two mainframes are combined in series and equipped with two sets of flower tubes with symmetrical patterns, the double-sided printing fabrics with the same pattern on the front and back can be printed. The flower tubes of the vertical roller printing machine are arranged longitudinally, and each flower tube has a small pressure-bearing roller.
